CT Coronary Angiography
Non-Invasive Imaging of the Coronary Arteries
Detailed CT imaging of the coronary arteries to identify blockages and guide treatment decisions — without the need for invasive catheterisation.
What is CT Coronary Angiography?
Coronary angiography is an imaging procedure that uses contrast dye and X-rays to visualise the inside of your coronary arteries. It is the gold standard test for identifying narrowings or blockages that cause chest pain or heart attacks.
Why Choose CT Coronary Angiography?
Dr Tashi specialises in CT coronary angiography (CTCA) — a non-invasive alternative that uses a CT scanner to produce detailed 3D images of the coronary arteries. It is fast, safe, and highly accurate for ruling out significant coronary artery disease.
Preparation & What to Expect
For CTCA, you will receive a contrast injection via an IV line. The scan takes 10–15 minutes. You may be given medication to slow your heart rate beforehand. Results are typically available within a few days and discussed at a follow-up consultation.
- Avoid caffeine on the day of your scan
- Continue regular medications unless advised otherwise
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
- Bring your referral and a list of current medications
Specific preparation instructions will be provided when your appointment is booked.
